SHORT MOVIE CLIPS

Here are some short storyboards clips and panels from shows I've worked on while at Disney.
Some of them play slow but that was purposefully done so they could be tightened up in editing.

Just like pushing color around. Here's one I like.

Sometimes I like color more than I like lines. But that's just because I have a love/hate relationship with my lines.

REALLY NEED TO DRAW MORE

Just saw, "How to Train Your Dragon" super inspiring. Need to sketch and have fun, stop trying to make work that is finished all the time. Accept the rough nature of the pose and try to tell the story than get caught up on the details.

OUR SUMMER

So with the fast approaching arrival or our first child, ( I can't wait) we have decided to take as many trips as we could before the big day. Some near, some far, all fun. Here are some of the sketches that I had done while away.

Touring GERMANY and the EASTERN BLOCK...

Then we moved on the VIENNA...

This was the gang.

XPEDIT where we had dinner one night.

Then off to BUDAPEST...

From BUDAPEST to KRAKOW...

Then off to PRAGUE...

Then homeward bound via MUNICH International Airport.

After three or four weeks then it was off to MAINE for Tim and Caseys Wedding.

COREA MAINE...

Some doodles...A Lobster shack or two...

So there ya go, our summer so far...

Another warm up

I like what I draw so much more when I have no point rather than trying to draw for something. I guess it's because I have no expectations of the work. I am trying to teach myself to slow down and go through the process of finding the drawing rather than rushing and getting discouraged. I am a very impatient man. Here's todays...

Just a sketch

I haven't posted in a while because I haven't felt like there was any real work I wanted to post. But I realize if I wait for myself I'll be waiting a looong time. So not thinking about it, just a sketch from when I'm warming up to work, then posting it.

To be an artist is to let your self expression become visible. To let what your abilities do what they can as your voice for expression. Your vision might be greater than your abilities but your limits will lead to other forms of creativity. The act of creating has no limits and also no minimum, whatever you add your influence to, be it decorating, teaching, painting, playing we are all artists, most of us non practicing but artists all the same. Expression is as essential as eating, sleeping and breathing and when a soul is confined from expression it becomes trapped. All we have to do is have the courage to see what we can do. What our own expression and style look like. Many don't like their style, it doesn't look like they want it too but that is theirs. Theirs to then shape, to teach and understand. I use drawing because that is my comfortable expression. I am not where I want to be but I am trying to understand it more and shape it to where I would like it to go. In some ways it responds to my wishes and in others it refuses. Understanding your creativity is a relationship unto itself.

More watercolor fun

Been working a little more with my watercolor set that my friend Scott made for me. I like to use watercolors because it isn't anything like what I am doing all day at work. That and the fact that it makes me take my time. Usually I just want to power through a piece and see it finished. I am more about the finish line and not the process. But now with watercolors I am starting to understand the process, it's scary as hell because I don't want to mess up a piece but at the same time it's kind of nice because I am really starting to think and understand what I want out of the piece. Well in any case enjoy. If anyone's out there.

The Sketchbook that will probably never be.

As those of you that know me know I don't finish much. So in the spirit of my non finishing I shall show all the things that started then stalled. Sort of an homage to the process of creativity and disinterest.
